The building program supports three main groups, the Youth, Teens and Community. The organization of the program spaces is based on the symbolism of the four directions and the circle of life.

Moving clockwise, programming supports the youngest to the oldest. At the main entrance in the East, Administration provides a cloak of security and observance out to the rest of the club.

Arts & Crafts anchors the Southeast, Teen Center in the Southwest, Gym in the  Northwest and Technology Center in the Northeast.

All of these spaces surround the Youth (open game room) in the heart of the club with movement directed around the Youth and out on axis in the East, South, West & North.

Positions Available - check out "Employment with the Club".

RED LAKE NATION BOYS & GIRLS CLUB CONDUCTING FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN

The Red Lake Nation Boys & Girls Club Payroll Deduction Campaign began on March 2, 2009 with the goal of 500 participants by March 20th. This is the first fundraiser the Red Lake Nation Boys & Girls Club is doing this year in order to offset the large loss in federal funding, increased budget, and still continue to provide after school programming without charging membership fees. The actual cost to provide programming to each youth for one year is $613. This takes into consideration the cost to maintain a staff of nearly 20 full time employees, building maintenance costs, and other operating expenses. Currently, the number of registered youth is 737 in Red Lake and 127 in Ponemah.

As a way of making the Payroll Deduction Campaign more fun, there are two levels of participation: Family and Corporate. Both are combined on the 16 ft. thermometer located in the Club. Anyone who is picking up their youth at the Club is also invited to take a look at the giant gauge measuring the participation levels for the Payroll Deduction Campaign. Right now the 16ft. thermometer displayed at the Club reads at 8%.

Want to support the Club but don’t live on the Reservation?

In addition to Red Lake employees, the Boys and Girls Club is reaching out to Red Lake members who do not live on the reservation as well as non-traditional tribal employees, vendors for the Red Lake Nation, other tribes and non-Indians who care about children and the great job that Boys and Girls Clubs does for the development of good citizenry.  Payroll deductions for most employees amount to $26 per year.  The club is hoping some of those who fall in the categories mentioned above will consider a similar donation.  If you can provide a $25 donation per year or more to the Boys and Girls Club of the Red Lake Nation, you can count on that money will go to wonderful programs for deserving children.  Please send your donation to: RedLakeNation Boys & Girls Club, P.O. Box 1124, Red Lake, MN 56671 and remember that your donation is tax deductible to the full extent allowed.

Note: Individuals who donate $5 or more per payroll or $120 per year, will receive a special edition Red Lake Nation Boys & Girls Club t-shirt.

Questions or more information on the Red Lake Nation Boys & Girls Club and the current fundraising campaign are invited to
call Becky Wierschke at 218-679-2556.
